Literature Text

My lover died in the arms of un-remembrance,
Leaving me a lark in his place,
Leaving me no more need of him.

The hypocrite was taken by the river,
In a deliberate act of ironic selfishness,
And as he fell, he dreamed.

The boy fell at the hand of the merciless street,
Strewn between bodies,
Just another child who did not live to see the morning.

The young blood went with the eyes of his beholder,
Who is also known as the man who loved and believed in him,
They faded with no more than a histrionic sigh in a forgotten flash of red.

The battered rose slipped away in the arms of one who never saw,
The rain didn't hurt her but the wound where her heart was did,
What was tragic was that that wound had always been there.

{Though my lover is now forgotten to me}

My love died in peace,
In my arms in the nearly-laughing candle-light,
I was not reflected in the silver candlestick,
Though my little lark was.

Clear as day.
I'm back, as you can see! *ahem* What I mean is, I've finally lifted that cursed Writer's Block off me and here is my latest poem [of sorts]... Also, I'm sorry that this poem revolves around my opinion that there is some sort of mutual romantic feeling between Fantine and Valjean in the novel/musical Les Miserables.

As per usual, I'd love to know what you think:
:bulletred: Can you guess (those of you who are familiar with the story of Les Mis, that is) which character(s) each stanza is about?

:bulletorange: Do you like the idea of it and how it flows?

:bulletyellow: Your general views?
